Witley Court

During the spring, we went to Witley Court. It was a wonderful sunny day during the week. It is always vital to remark that beautiful weather boosts every visit, especially while the gardens are in flower. So the journey starts from my home. We saw a picture of Witley court on the internet. It got us excited to explore this place. So I purchased plane tickets for my family to arrive at Heathrow Airport. We'll also need a cab to get to the castle from there. I reserved a cab with company. I explained my requirements to them, and they recommended the ideal car for our purposes. The fees were quite affordable. So the day arrived for which we had been planning. We touched down at Heathrow Airport. Coming out after completing the check-out requirements. The driver had our name written on a billboard and was waiting for us. He was a decent guy. He greeted us with such warmth. He starts driving towards the castle in his car. He left us off at the castle's entrance.

As you wander around the remains of Worcestershire's Witley Court, you can sense the ghosts of its former life as one of England's great country homes. It was a real-life Downton Abbey in the late 1800s, hosting royalty for shooting parties and social dances, with a fleet of employees below stairs keeping things running smoothly. However, following a fire in 1937, the mansion was left an empty shell until it was taken over by English Heritage, who opened Witley Court for tourists to explore the remains and get a look back in time to its glittering heyday.

Witley Court began life as a modest Jacobean manor house. But in 1655 it was sold to the Foley family, who’d made their money in ironmongery, first making nails and later cannons during the Civil War. Over the following 182 years, eight generations of Foleys (all called Thomas) rebuilt themselves as manufacturers, aristocrats, and politicians, lavishing money on Witley Court to reflect their new position.

Witley Court is unquestionably one-of-a-kind. The shell of a gigantic home surrounded by totally refurbished formal gardens and one of the most stunning fountains in the country is an exquisite sight. Similarly to many other Heritage buildings, you may enjoy an audio guide that helps you explore both the home and the garden (with some wonderful information regarding the property's "downstairs" existence). Finally, there is the chapel, which was previously a part of the house but is now owned by the parish. From the outside, this chapel does not appear to be anything spectacular, but I highly recommend visiting it: you will be pleasantly surprised. The church, unlike the home, remains unharmed, and its interior is breathtaking.

To summarise, Witley Court is one of the most unusual experiences I've had since the start of this fantastic endeavor. I suppose it has had such an influence on me since I have now seen numerous majestic homes. So my advice is to go, but first, tour a few properties that aren't empty shells so you can enjoy the fantastic experience Witley Court provides.
